Bakery

Crust's products are available for daily pickup at Farmgate Markets in St. Thomas. Breads, buns, croutons, and other assorted baked goods are delivered fresh twice weekly on Tuesday and Friday mornings. They will also be available at the Horton Farmers' Market of St. Thomas this coming season. Alternatively, you can call or email directly for personal or bulk orders, which are available for pickup or delivery upon request.

Bread

Following extensive training in artisanal bread making by some of the best bread makers in the province including Neil Baxter of Rundles, Stratford and Erin Turcke, writer of Sourdough – A Recipe For Life, Crust’s chefs make handmade breads and buns, both wheat-based and gluten-free with passion and care. All wheat-based breads are made exclusively with Arva Flour Mill’s organic hard, whole wheat, and rye flours. Crust’s gluten-free recipes are made with brown rice flour and have been described as moist and light in texture, a rare description in the gluten-free realm. All Crust products are filler and preservative free and keep well simply by proper wrapping, followed by refrigeration or freezing.

Cakes

Cakes Crust Catering & Bakery also offers custom fondant cakes for any occasion, be it ‘Sweet Sixteen’, anniversaries of any sort, and/or wedding cakes all designed with clients’ needs, desires, and personalities in mind.

Our Breads

8-Grain

Our 8 Grain bread is made with Arva Flour Mill’s organic hard and whole wheat flours and includes their grain combination of large flake oatmeal, quick cooking oatmeal, cracked wheat, cream of whole wheat, cornmeal, flax seed, sesame seed, and sunflower seed.

Rye-Sourdough

Our rye sourdough bread starts with our homemade culture -- a starter made from Arva’s organic rye flour and water, which if taken care of and “fed” daily, produces natural lactic acid. It acts both as a flavouring and leavening agent, giving our rye its characteristically sour flavour.
